Overview

This unique play is a mesmerizing journey into a surreal world filled with magic, adventure, drugs, and unexpected twists. Kate's sister Anne, a ravishing beauty, wakes up one morning to discover a sheep's head between her shoulders. Thus begins the journey of the two sisters in their quest to return Anne's true head to its proper place. The journey is sidetracked, however, by Kate's obsession with a slim raver-boy who has a nasty little addiction. Based loosely and lyrically on the British fairy tale "Kate Crackernuts."

The playwright, Sheila Callaaghan, has not only made a name for herself in the theatre world, but she has also contributed to television, writing for popular shows such as "Shameless" and "The United States of Tara." Her unique style and fresh perspectives shine through in "Kate Crackernuts," making it a must-see for theatre and television fans alike. Adding to the excitement of this production, not only is Kevin Roach directing, but he was also in the original cast at the Bloomington Playwrights Project and has chosen to bring "Kate Crackernuts" to life once again, making this a truly special experience.
